Under Investigation 07/08/2025 - Network Interruptions NL

Are there any new updates? Or any sliver of hope that things are getting closer to a resolve!?
Best I can decipher, The problem has been isolated down to a PDU failure in combination with Equinix performing power maintenance on one of the feeds.

If that hold true then either relocating the equipment to a new cabinet, or replacing the PDU would be the next steps. Still haven't received a firm ETA on service restoration.

I'm only reading this thread now — I wasn't aware of it and opened a critical ticket a few minutes ago.
It's been three hours and counting.
I guess there's not much we can do at this point.
I've been through these kinds of downtimes before, and they're always a pain for everyone.
Customers are calling us in a frenzy.

I still believe that the only way to achieve near-100% uptime is to set up two separate VPS instances in different locations: a Master and a Mirror. Keep them in sync, and host the DNS on a third server.
When a disaster strikes the Master VPS, I could simply update the DNS to point to the Mirror VPS.
It’s an expensive setup, but it should work.

In your personal experience how long would that take for either case!? Of course I would not take this as ETA or anything, I'm just curious as how laborious the task is.

If there is someone in Netherlands, Amsterdam, here is the address of our datacenter:

As seen here https://packetfabric.com/locations/packetfabric-sites-map
Please go there and help us out :)

I'd say 1~3 Hours.

I did get another update that they are working on getting temporary power to bring up the critical equipment which will bring us online. The problem is if this were Atlanta where we have a massive cage, I'd just have our staff pull power from any number of the cabinets.

But since this is Equinix and I don't know how large of a presence Packet fabric has here, I'm not sure what that situation looks like, esp with one side of the power down for maintenance.

Thank you! Hopefully I can appease the raging office mob here.

Tell them they are welcome to rage at me. But they need to bring the coffee, and we'll have a nice long chat. It's 3am here and this outage sadly started right as I was about to fall asleep, but who needs sleep I normally wake up in a little over an hour anyway to start my day.

Man, you are a true champ. When this all is sorted we should get you some nice beer and celebrate. Cheers! You are one of the best support mods I ever found on any hosting provider ^_^

The thing they don't tell you when you get into management, or start running a company is that shit runs uphill. I'm not going to run from it, I'm going to own it and as long as there's a problem and something isn't right I'm going to be right here with you in the middle of it.

Hi, everybody. Greetings from Galicia in solidarity to everybody affected by this incidence, and also cheers to Daniel and everybody at KnownHost working to get this fixed ASAP.

Let's hope things are back to normal soon. Thanks for your efforts.

JFYI For future reference we've added a recovery email in the portal where you can keep the primary as a login, but have a backup for password resets.
